SOLD - New owner at ASKKSA Garage Equipment
K.S. Automotive was started by Keith Stenhouse in 1986 and shortly after became KSA. In 1998 the business became a limited concern and took the name of ASKKSA Ltd after the marketing the business had used in recent years. If you required some equipment for your garage workshop, you simply had to ask KSA.
Together with his wife Marion, Keith grew the business for it to become the leading provider of garage equipment in the South West with customers throughout Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset. The customer base includes local garages, fleet operators, Councils, Ambulance Service as well as some of the top regional car dealerships.
With a team of two Salesmen, five engineers and two administrators, the business not only supplies the equipment (such as MoT bays, lifting equipment, compressors, emissions analysers and tyre related equipment) but also offers advice from workshop design and layout to equipment training and equipment maintenance, calibrations and servicing.
With the aim to retire (and spend more time on the golf course) Keith and Marion chose to instruct Beardsley Theobalds to handle the sale. Advertisements were placed on Beardsley Theobalds’ own website and on the two main industry sites of Businesses for Sale and Daltons Business.
As the result of various methods to promote the business for sale interest was shown from national operators and regional garage operators.
The new owner is Garry Hennah who, after long service in The Royal Navy, is turning his skills to a business career. He aims to maintain the reputation that the company has built but aims for expansion and is in the process of relocating the business to new premises in Plymouth.
