SOLD : Award Winning Business Changes Hands
Home & Away Southwest Cleaning Services has recently been one of the quickest business sales for Beardsley Theobalds – the specialist business transfer agents. From the start of advertising the business for sale a deal was agreed and the sale completed in just six weeks.
The business, which was established in 2006, provides cleaning and ancillary services to holiday home owners, local domestic clients and a handful of commercial clients across the west of Cornwall.
Having taken over the business from her mother who founded the business Laura Gilmore build up a solid client base and established a great reputation being voted ‘Best Holiday Home Cleaning Company 2020 – south west England’ (by Southern Enterprise Awards). In fact, several holiday home owners plan to swap to this business when they are out of contract with their existing provider. With the increased demand over the holiday season the business provides work up to 20 self-employed operatives.
Being tempted away to help a relation with a small electronics business Laura instructed Beardsley Theobalds to handle the sale. Advertisements were placed on various websites in the business transfer industry and a mailshot was sent to suitable people on their register of buyers.
The business immediately caught the attention of Claire Ames and, after reviewing the accounts for the business, a meeting was arranged - following social distancing of course. Laura and Claire hit it off right away and Laura felt very comfortable to be able to pass her business on to someone who would run it with the same high standards and manner of conducting business. After a handover from Laura, Claire will be set up to be in place ready for the summer season.
Laura was represented by Julie Rowan of Sproull Solicitors in Bodmin and the legal work was attended to swiftly.
On completion of the sale Laura said to Charles Webb at Beardsley “Claire’s perfect, we get on like a house on fire but I couldn’t have done it without you.”
